Worthy.

I fancy me a good daytime talk show every now and then. Dr. Phil when i have the odd day off work, or re-runs of Ellen in the afternoon. And as everyone is aware Oprah had her last show last week, and gave some amazing advice to end it all. This post was stemmed from something Mandy addressed last weekend.

I'm not sure where the feeling of being unworthy has come from in my life. Maybe it was being told in school that i was never 'smart' enough, Maybe it was being picked up and dropped from so many males when i was a teenager, Maybe it is feeling like i have not lived up to my expectations in my career and had successes like my father. Or maybe it's just a mixture of the lot? I've always been a strong advocate for loving yourself and everything you do. But when it comes to things that i put my heart into (this blog, my boyfriend and family etc.) i feel completely unworthy. The amount of amazing bloggers i follow and have come across make me feel like these words and this page are here for no reason. Sometimes i cant see the point in sharing my life when there is nothing interesting enough to share, like a baby, a husband, an amazing job or cause or an insatiable fashion sense. But i keep on. I'll post about my life to remember, even if i feel its not worth remembering. Because it's my life, and the only person that can change it is me. And one day when i do have a baby, a husband and all of the above, i will be able to look at this and think 'Wow, that was what my life was like'.

In the famous last words of Oprah,

“Each one of you has your own platform. Do not let the trappings here fool you. Mine is a stage in a studio, yours is wherever you are with your own reach, however small or however large that reach is. Maybe it’s 20 people, maybe it’s 30 people, 40 people, your family, your friends, your neighbors, your classmates, your classroom, your co-workers. Wherever you are, that is your platform, your stage, your circle of influence. That is your talk show, and that is where your power lies. In every way, in every day, you are showing people exactly who you are. You’re letting your life speak for you. And when you do that, you will receive in direct proportion to how you give in whatever platform you have.”
